The purpose of this informal gathering is twofold; to highlight two recent NINO-related research projects, and to say goodbye to four of our colleagues, who will be leaving us by the end of this month.
First, NINO postdoc Andrea Trameri will present his recently published monograph Purifying a House from Blood: A Hittite Ritual for the Ancient Gods (CTH 446). Next is a presentation by Nico de Klerk, postdoc for the NWO project 'Projecting knowledge: the magic lantern as a tool for mediated science communication in the Netherlands, 1880-1940' led by Frank Kessler at Utrecht University. Nico has been conducting research on the lectures (with lantern slides) of Frans de Liagre Böhl in the NINO Archive over the last few months, and will share some of the results.
Afterwards, we will move to the garden (weather permitting) to say goodbye to:
