NINO offers a variety of fellowships, grants, and prizes, in support of researchers and students working on the Near East (incl. Egypt) in the Netherlands and abroad. This section of our website gives an overview of our available funding opportunities, as well as our annual events.

The applicant should make clear how their research project makes a contribution to Egyptology (including Coptology), Assyriology (including Hittitology), and/or Near Eastern archaeology.
Calls for applications are announced on the NINO website and NINO’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Bluesky).
Funding applications are reviewed by our Academic Committee, a dedicated search committee (postdoc positions) or a jury (Thesis Prizes, Jaarprijs Cuijpers-Opdenakker), and/or the Director of the NINO Research Centre.

The NIT offers two types of fellowships for research stays in Istanbul: Residential Fellowships and Non-Residential Fellowships.
