NINO offers contributions of € 50 to € 300 in support of smaller gatherings, or events aimed at a broader public, about the Near East (incl. Egypt) organized in the Netherlands.
Relevant activities and events, organised by sister organisations, student associations, research projects and similar in the Netherlands are eligible for an Outreach Allowance. Applications ranging from € 50 to € 300 can be submitted throughout the year; previous applicants may re-apply for recurrent or new activities. The Allowance may be used for the organisation of an event or for its promotion to the intended audience. Drawing the attention of the broader public in the Netherlands to (the studies of) the Near East is encouraged.
The applicant should make clear how their research project makes a contribution to (the dissemination of) Egyptology (including Coptology), Assyriology (including Hittitology), and/or Near Eastern archaeology.
NINO Outreach Allowances are awarded year-round (max. € 300) for less formal gatherings or for events aimed at the broader public. For the organisation of a scholarly conference or workshop, we also offer NINO Conference Subsidies (four times per year; max. € 2.000).
