Clay tablets and other objects from our Böhl Collection are included in the new permanent exhibition at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden

The Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, Leiden, has a new permanent exhibition “Ancient Middle East”. NINO is very pleased that the new exhibition includes 44 objects from our Böhl Collection – among them a few well-known highlights such as our large Gilgamesh tablet (pictured), a relief fragment from Nineveh showing a pomegranate tree, and an archaic stone kudurru. Other collection highlights, previously mainly known by a small number of specialists, are now showcased to a larger public: among them many clay tablets from various periods representing a wide range of genres and subjects, several stone inscriptions, our Nebuchadnezzar cylinder, and more.

Our congratulations to the Museum on opening a beautifully arranged and very informative gallery!
