Starting from Tuesday 13 April limited access to the NINO library will be possible again. Study places are available only to students and PhD students of the departments of ONOS, CAC, and Archaeology of the Near East at Leiden University, and to NINO fellows. 25 study places are available for reservation on Monday through Thursday.
For now, only morning time-slots 9.00-14.00 hrs are available.

Requests can be made one working day in advance, and must be received before 14.00 hrs. Reservations for Monday may be requested on Thursday and Friday. We will let you know as soon as possible whether we are able to grant your request. Requests are processed in the order they are received.
If your reservation is confirmed, you are welcome at the indicated date and time. Wear a face mask when walking or standing in the NINO library. Clean your hands carefully upon entering the library; disinfectant gel is provided at the entrance. Check in at the reception desk and write your details in our registration log (using your own pen). After a brief check of your reservation you will be allowed to access the library; our staff member will indicate your study place. We trust that during your stay in our library, you will maintain hygiene measures with regard to coronavirus and that you will respect any instructions from our staff.
Study places in the NINO library are cleaned after every visit.
It is mandatory to wear a face mask over mouth and nose while standing or walking in our library because of the narrow walkways and absence of a ventilation system.
Elsewhere in Leiden University buildings, wearing a face mask is optional. Maintaining 1.5 metres distance and keeping to indicated walking routes is still mandatory. Full details in the Campus Protocol on Leiden University website.
If you are unexpectedly unable to use your reserved study place, inform us as soon as possible via nino@hum.leidenuniv.nl.
During this time, we offer exceptional loaning out of books to own staff and students at NINO. Items are determined suitable for loan on a case-by-case basis. Short-term loans of monographs (not of journal issues) can be requested by email to facultyliaison@library.leidenuniv.nl or to the NINO subject librarians.

In verband met de landelijke richtlijnen rond het coronavirus is de dienstverlening van de NINO-bibliotheek (onderdeel van Universitaire Bibliotheken Leiden, UBL) aangepast.
Vanaf dinsdag 13 april 2021 is de NINO-bibliotheek weer – beperkt – opengesteld. Er zijn voorlopig alléén studieplekken beschikbaar voor studenten en PhD-studenten van de studierichtingen ONOS/CAC en Archeologie van het Nabije Oosten van de Universiteit Leiden, alsmede NINO-fellows. Momenteel zijn er, van maandag tot en met donderdag, 25 werkplekken op reservering beschikbaar.
Voorlopig is alleen het ochtendblok beschikbaar van 9.00 tot 14.00 uur.

Er kunnen alleen aanvragen worden ingediend voor de volgende werkdag; de aanvraag moet uiterlijk om 14.00 uur bij ons binnen zijn. Donderdag en vrijdag kunnen aanvragen voor maandag worden ingediend. Wij laten u zo snel mogelijk weten of de aanvraag kan worden gehonoreerd. Bij het behandelen van de aanvragen wordt uitgegaan van de volgorde van binnenkomst.
Als uw aanvraag is goedgekeurd bent u op de gekozen dag van harte welkom. Draag een mondkapje over mond en neus wanneer u staat of loopt in de NINO-bibliotheek. Bij binnenkomst in de bibliotheek desinfecteert u uw handen, meldt u zich aan bij de balie en registreert u zich in het dagregister (met een eigen pen). Na controle van uw aanmelding wordt u toegelaten en de baliemedewerker verwijst u naar uw werkplek. Wij gaan ervan uit dat u tijdens uw bezoek de coronamaatregelen in acht neemt en instructies van de medewerkers respecteert.
De werkplek in de NINO-bibliotheek wordt na elk bezoek grondig schoongemaakt.
In de NINO-bibliotheek is het dragen van een mondkapje over mond en neus verplicht wanneer u staat of loopt, vanwege de smalle gangen en het ontbreken van ventilatieapparatuur.
In andere delen van de gebouwen van de Universiteit Leiden is het dragen van een mondkapje optioneel. Het houden van 1,5 meter afstand en het volgen van aangegeven looproutes is nog steeds verplicht. Alle details in het campusprotocol op de website van de Universiteit Leiden.

Vanwege corona lenen we momenteel boeken uit. Per boek wordt bekeken of het kan worden uitgeleend. Verzoeken voor uitlening voor korte duur van monografieën (niet van tijdschrift-onderdelen) kunnen door eigen medewerkers en studenten gestuurd worden naar facultyliaison@library.leidenuniv.nl of naar de NINO-vakreferenten.
