NINO supports Assyriologists’ and Egyptologists’ congresses in Leiden

RAI68 and ICE13 are held in July and August 2023; we are proud to support both.

2023 will see two major conferences of Ancient Near Eastern scholars in Leiden:

• From 17 to 20 July, the 68^th Rencontre Assyriologique Internationale, the annual conference of the International Association for Assyriology, is hosted by Leiden University.
• From 6 to 11 August, the 13^th International Congress of Egyptologists, the four-yearly gathering of Egyptologists and specialists from related fields, is organised by Egyptologists from Leiden University’s sections of Egyptology and Papyrology, and the National Museum of Antiquities.

The Netherlands Institute for the Near East is proud to participate in both. Behind the scenes, we are lending a hand in the organisation of the congresses – both practical and financial.

In addition, we offer a limited number of Conference Participation Grants under specific conditions: RAI 68 and ICE 13 participants residing in the Middle East or North Africa may apply for a grant of € 500. Read more on this page.
